Beach blondes by Katherine Applegate
Beach blondes is a fantastic easy read for any teenage girl who loves chick lit. Beach blondes is about a girl called Summer who gets a call from her aunt in Florida Keys asking if she’d like to spend the summer on the beach in the hot weather with lots of hot boys opposed to staying in Minnesota in the cold rainy weather. Summer is told she will meet 3 boys while on the plane from Minnesota by a tarot card reader who gives Summer a free reading. What summer doesn’t know is that the reading will play on her mind the entire summer break. Each one of the 3 boys teaches her a different lesson when it comes to love – weather she learns from them is completely different story. After arriving in Florida Keys after her aunt left them to their own devices so she could go on her book tour, Dianne shows Summer just how much she doesn’t want her cousin around. Summer’s aunt had a reason to ask her to come down for the summer break; it wasn’t just for her to enjoy the hot sun and the sea. Dianne needs help, but can Summer give her the help she needs? What happened to Dianne? Something terrible, but Diane makes sure she gets revenge, which doesn’t play out just how she imagined.
Summer lost her 2 year old brother just before she was born; he was taken from her parents while at playschool. There was no trace of him and her parents were heartbroken. While in Florida Keys Summer starts having dreams of a young boy. While trapped in cave with one of the boys Seth, Summer sees this young boy, again who is holding a red ball. He throws the ball up to the roof of the cave where there is a small hole, Summer realises he’s there to help her. This boy will end up being someone very important to her. Could it be her brother? Will she choose the right boy? You will just have to read Beach blondes and find out. Beach blonde is defiantly worth reading and you won’t be able to put it down.
