Library Week 2008 – What’s Your Story? Nou te kōrero
By Susan @ 11:30 a.m. :: 352 Views

Library Week 2008 (18 - 24 August) has been running for over 35 years and is a week long celebration of libraries and librarianship taking place in public, school, tertiary and special libraries all over New Zealand.

This year’s theme “What’s Your Story? Nou te kōrero” aims to highlight the individual reasons why people use libraries - be it to hire a CD, surf the Internet or get involved in a community project.

Our libraries in Franklin will be holding a number of Library Week events designed around the ‘What’s Your Story?’ theme.

On Wednesday 20th August at 10.30am we will join with libraries across New Zealand for ‘NZ’s Biggest Story time’ to read Diana Neild’s wonderful book  Piggity-Wiggity Jiggity Jig (Scholastic).
At Pukekohe our guest reader will be  Mayor Mark Ball; Waiuku has ex librarian Valerie Pearce and at Tuakau branch manager Sue Fry will be reading the story.
