The Ghost of Motor Racing Past

Auckland Libraries is celebrating the region's rich and diverse past during Auckland Heritage Festival 2011. Join us for an exciting range of events, walks and talks.

 
On display, in the Pukekohe library a 1925 Type 35A Bugatti. The car was owned by Ron Roycroft and famously raced by him through the 1950s with a Jaguar XK 150 engine. The car won the NZ Championship in 1954, placed first New Zealander at the Ardmore Grand Prix 1956. Now owned by Terry Roycroft at Awhitu and restored to its original condition.
