Our subscription has been a result of a joint effort with 33 other libraries around New Zealand serving a population of over 1.2 million people to offer access to this resource.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer remote access to Ancestry under the terms of our subscription. Ancestry is available from all three of our bookinopolis libraries to library members free of charge, although there is a cost for printing. Please note that in times of heavy demand it may be necessary to book a computer.

Whether you are a veteran genealogist or a relative newcomer Ancestry opens up a whole world of new information with access to original census records that are downloadable and printable.

At our Pukekohe branch we are fortunate enough to share our premises with the Pukekohe Branch of the New Zealand Society of Genealogists who offer regular research assistance throughout the week. Please check with us for days and times. At all branches our library staff will be able to offer general assistance with your queries. In addition to Ancestry from the Pukekohe library only you can access New Zealand Birth, Death and Marriage Index microfiche, passenger lists, New Zealand electoral rolls, cemetery records and lots more.

If your ancestors lived in the Franklin region don?t forget that each of our libraries has a collection of Franklin History resources. Once again our Pukekohe branch holds our main collection of resources on Franklin. Our collection of local newspapers runs from 1912 through to the present day and is an invaluable source of information on local residents. Other material available includes reunion booklets, photographs, books etc.

Finally we have a large collection of support material for genealogical research from beginners guides through to publishing family histories. Most of these are available to be borrowed.

So, for guidance and resources to assist with your own research into your family?s history visit us at bookinopolis.
