 Kia ora; hello; geode dag; bula; hola; bonjour; namaste; yia soul; aloha; sat sir akai; Talofa;

 This month’s theme at all bookinopolis libraries is multiculturalism – a celebration of the people and cultures that help to shape our national and global communities.
With Waitangi Day and Chinese New Year both falling in the month of February it has been a great opportunity to promote material that reflects our New Zealand identity and also items that reflect Chinese culture, history and tradition.

We are also highlighting biographies about people from different cultural backgrounds. These stories make fascinating and sometimes difficult reading and provide a window into the lives of people whose experiences of the world are vastly different to our own.

And what would February be without a mention of Valentine’s Day? If romance is your thing (or you would like it to be) we have displays of romantic fiction to while away the hours.
