Franklin History Collections - Material published locally or about Franklin District is actively sought for this collection. This includes items such as serials, books, booklets, photographs and ephemera e.g. school reunion booklets. Of particular interest to researchers is our local newspaper collection which dates back to 1912.
Much of the material in this collection has been obtained through donation and we welcome any interest in depositing local information with the libraries for its continued conservation and preservation. A new system of standardised charges for regional heritage collections services has been introduced. These charges apply to the main heritage collections at the following Auckland Libraries:
- Sir George Grey Special Collections, Auckland Central City Library (Central)
- Auckland Central Research Centre, Auckland Central City Library (Central)
- JT Diamond Reading Room, North & West Auckland Research Centre, Henderson (West)
- South Auckland Research Centre, Manukau, (South)
- Various heritage collections at Takapuna Library, North Shore (North).
